Intra Institutional Collaborations Helpful in Policymaking: VC Karachi University

KARACHI: The intra institutional collaborations within universities are helpful in policymaking, as it also plays an important role in bringing betterment in the technical and policy infrastructure of the higher educational institutions.
With such collaborations, the universities could enhance their research landscape and would be able to accelerate their research data management services. Cross-institutional collaboration also helps in increasing universities’ capacities.
The Vice Chancellor University of Karachi Professor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi expressed these views during a meeting with the VC Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University of Technology and Skill Development, Khairpur Mirs, Engineer Professor Dr Madad Ali Shah on Wednesday.
The purpose of the meeting was to set forth the framework for the collaboration between two institutions. The KU VC Professor Dr Khalid Iraqi mentioned that such opportunities would help in exploring new areas of research and provide a solid platform to the academic researchers of both institutions.
He observed that skill development is an essential part of a rapidly changing business environment and market. He said that productivity could only be enhanced by formulating strategies and programs in line with modern, international requirements and challenges, as well as focusing on skill development and the use of modern technology.
Both vice chancellors discussed the possibility of initiating joint research projects, sharing experiences of experts of faculty as well as holding webinars, seminars, conferences, and faculty exchange programs in detail to promote the working relationship among both universities.
They agreed that skill development facilitates job creation and universities could get far-reaching results from such initiatives.
