SRINAGAR: At least two Indian Air force personnel were injured in two mysterious explosions that took place inside Indian Air Force base in the Occupied Jammu on Sunday morning.
Indian media reports quickly blamed terrorists for the incident, however, the Indian Air Force in its official release said the twin explosions were of low intensity. It said the explosions took place in the technical area of Jammu Air Force Station, one caused minor damage to the roof of a building while the other exploded in an open area. Indian Air Force claimed there was no damage to any equipment. Investigation is in progress along with civil agencies.
On the other hand, local media confirmed that at least two Indian Air Force personnel were injured in the incidents, while the blasts caused substantive damage to at least two buildings inside the Indian Air Force base.
Soon after the blasts, Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh spoke to Vice Air Chief Air Marshal HS Arora regarding the blasts at Air Force Station in Jammu.
Indian media reports suggested that NIA team had reached the Air Force Station in Jammu, FIR registered under UAPA under section 16 and 18 and there were all indications that the case would be handed over to NIA.
It is interesting to note that although cause of the explosions wasn’t ascertained till the filing of this report, the Indian media quickly picked up the small drone story” from its social media in what appeared to be building some kind of narrative.
