Attack on NAB Team In Jacobabad: Chairman Orders inquiry
ISLAMABAD: Chairman NAB Justice (R) Javed Iqbal has taken serious notice of the attacks by violent mob on the NAB team during search and execution of arrest warrants of accused Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani former Federal Minister at Jacobabad Sindh yesterday. In a press note issued here on Tuesday, the Chairman NAB has been quoted as having ordered DG NAB to conduct an inquiry in this regard covering all aspects of the incident as per law.
As per details, NAB has authorized investigation against officers/officials of Education Works Department Jacobabad and others on the orders of Honorable Supreme Court of Pakistan on the allegations of embezzlement of funds in Sindh Education Reforms Program in District Jacobabad, Sindh. In the subject investigation, Arrest Warrants of accused Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani former Federal Minister were issued by the competent authority as per law. In order to execute the warrants of arrest, NAB Sukkur Team conducted a search with the help of Lady Police Constable and officers of NAB Sukkur of the house of accused Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani on 28th June 2021 at 06:30 p.m.
However, huge resistance has been faced by the NAB Team at the house of Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani. A huge violent mob was organized at the front gate of the house of Aijaz Hussain Jakhrani, Former Federal Minister during the search. In order to clear the violent mob, NAB Sukkur has suffered injuries as a result of attacks by violent mob besides Black Vigo GPA — 919, Hiace Van and one Police Mobile has been damaged. It is pertinent to mention here that District Police Jacobabad and SSP Jacobabad Sindh did not cooperate and provide any help to NAB team at the spot for conduct of search as per law upon request made by NAB Sukkur.
