Daughter of Afghan Diplomat Wasn’t Kidnapped, She Lied: Sheikh Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has revealed that daughter of Afghan Ambassador to Islamabad, Silsila Alikhil, was not kidnapped at all, instead, she lied to the authorities about her abduction.

Speaking to a news channel on Sunday and citing multiple CCTV footage in government’s possession, Sheikh Rashid said Silsila Alikhil walked out of her home on foot, reached Khadda Market on a taxi, took another taxi and proceeded to Rawalpindi. From Rawalpindi, Sheikh Rashid maintained, she took another Taxi from Daman-e-Koh and went to F-9 instead of her home, although her residence was close to that place. She even used her internet at Daman-e-Koh, he said., adding that Silsila Alikhil lied about the phone snatching, while the fact was that her phone was recovered from her possession with all DATA gone.

Sheikh Rashid termed the enter abduction drama as a broader conspiracy and execution of RAW’s agenda against Pakistan.

It may be mentioned here that these remarks by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid coincided with Afghan media reported about President Ashraf Ghani’s move, recalling his Ambassador and other senior diplomats from Islamabad owing to their security issue.
