CIA Chief ‘Visiting Pakistan, India’ to Discuss Afghanistan: Indian Paper

KARACHI: The Chief of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), William Burns is visiting the region including India and Pakistan to discuss a number of issues arising from the Afghanistan evacuation effort and Taliban government formation. This has been reported by an Indian newspaper, The Hindu, on Wednesday.

The report says an American delegation of intelligence and security officials, led by Chief of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) William Burns, is visiting the region including India and Pakistan, and has already held consultations with National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Tuesday.

In the meanwhile, the Russian Secretary of the Security Council General Nikolay Patrushev is scheduled to meet with Indian PM Modi, NSA Doval and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
