DG FIA Visits NCB-INTERPOL Office

ISLAMABAD: Dr. Sanaullah Abbasi, Head of NCB-INTERPOL Pakistan/DG FIA visited the office of NCBINTERPOL in FIA Headquarters Islamabad, met the officials working in various sections and examined INTERPOL databases. He was given briefing by Director NCB regarding the working of NCB/ INTERPOL Pakistan.

INTERPOL Islamabad FIA Headquarters has provided assistance to Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in apprehending the fugitives who have committed crimes in Pakistan and flee the country. In year 2021, (43) fugitives were got located in various countries due to very hectic efforts of FIA INTERPOL, Headquarters, these fugitives were extradited to Pakistan and handed over to the District Police Officers.

The extradition of 128 fugitives wanted by various LEAs in Pakistan in various crimes, is in pipeline and NCB INTERPOL Pakistan is making efforts with concerned INTERPOL member countries to get them extradited to Pakistan.

DG FIA appreciated the efforts of the NCB INTERPOL Pakistan and directed to ensure to work 24/7, keep close coordination with other LEAs and assist the Immigration staff at the Airport. He also directed to activate the Fugitive Investigation Support Unit in NCB INTERPOL FIA Headquarters to provide the necessary information/assistance to INTERPOL member states for early finalization of extradition cases pending abroad.
