India: Violence Erupts In Senapati, Manipur, As People Attack Army Convoy

NEW DELHI: Several people were injured after violence broke out in the town of Senapati, state of Manipur.

According to reports gathered by the Regional Telegraph, locals took to the streets to register protest against the arrest of member of National Socialist Council of Nagaland by Assam Rifles.

People of Senapati town blocked roads, burnt tyres and attacked Indian Army convoy on the streets, demanding release of member of National Socialist Council of Nagaland.

Clashes have also been reported between Naga Army and Assam Rifles during which Naga Army overpowered the Assam Rifle captain and snatched away his gun.
