DERA GHAZI KHAN: At least one person lost life and six injured when flash floods triggered by heavy rain in and around areas of Dera Ghazi Khan swept through Sakhi Sarwar area in the wee hours of Wednesday morning.
According to details gathered by the Regional Telegraph, hundreds of pilgrims had gathered to attend an ongoing Urs in Sakhi Sarwar with their buses parked in a nearby Nullah.
Heavy rains started last night triggered flash floods in the Nullah, washing away at least 4 buses and a street vendor’s cart.
Six people sustained injuries while one was still missing after being caught by the flooding whose body was found moments ago.
Rescue workers had rushed to the spot and had started treating those affected by the flash floods.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) had issued flood alert on March 2 for several areas including Dera Ghazi Khan.
