KARACHI: The City police busted a network comprising elements from Indian intelligence agency RAW and MQM London, arresting 3 of its members, identified as Shahid, Majid and Adil.
Addressing a press conference here on Thursday, Karachi Police Chief Ghulam Nabi Memon said the network was busted with the help of a federal agency, and that the police have requested the government to constitute a joint investigation team (JIT) for this case.
He said the network used to get amount for terror funding from abroad using Hundi, and providing sensitive information to Mehmood Siddiqi in India.
Besides these, information about those who defied party policies was also being provided abroad. The network, he said, was being run by Shahid of MQM/RAW Karachi Chapter.
Ghulam Nabi Memon further said that upon information provided by the arrest terrorist, huge cache of arms and ammo was also recovered. He further revealed that one of the terrorist arrested by Police was employee of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board, other one was working as an employee of KMC while the third one was working as an employee of Karachi University.
