KABUL: The Death toll as a result of armed attack on Sikh temple in Kabul has risen to 25, with 8 other people injured. Daesh claimed responsibility for suicide attack on Sikh temple in Kabul which took place on Wednesday.
Afghan officials told media that gunmen armed with automatic weapons attacked Sikh temple in Shor Bazaar in the central part of Kabul on Wednesday morning.
Sikh leader, MP Narender Singh Khalsa told media that all those at the temple were killed.
Afghan Taliban have denied involvement in the attack, while Afghan officials told media that the gunfight was still going on at the spot, while security forces successfully rescued several children from the spot.
Pakistan Condemns Kabul Attack: Pakistan strongly condemned the attack on Sikh Gurdwara in Kabul, calling it heinous terrorist attack.
In a statement released in Islamabad, a foreign office spokesperson said “Pakistan strongly condemns the heinous terrorist attack on a Gurdwara in Kabul, that has resulted in the loss of precious lives and injuries to several worshippers. Such despicable attacks have no political, religious or moral justification and must be rejected outright.”
It said “our hearts go out to the families who have lost their loved ones in this inhuman act and we pray for the swiftest recovery of the injured. We also express our abiding solidarity with the fraternal people of Afghanistan,” adding that “Pakistan condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. All places of worship are sacrosanct and their sanctity must be respected at all times.”
