QUETTA: Security officials from Pakistan and Afghan border forces and well as trade representatives held urgent meeting at Chaman on Friday to discuss possibilities of reopening Chaman border.
It may be recalled that on March 2, the government had closed the Pak-Afghan Border at Chaman following reports that new cases of corona virus have been reported in the neighboring country.
Since then, hundreds of trucks carrying supplies, mostly perishable items, have been stranded at the both sides of border.
Today’s meeting has brought hope that the next Islamabad meeting on National Security will actively consider to reopen the border for trade activities.
Informed sources told the Regional Telegraph that after getting green signal, Pak-Afghan border at Chaman was expected to reopened within a day or two.
