Pakistan Temporarily Opens Borders With Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to open its borders with Afghanistan on temporary basis on humanitarian grounds. The move came just a day after Pak and Afghan border security officials had a meeting at Chaman crossing point.

According to a press note, Pakistan decided to allow the exit of Afghan nationals from Pakistan, wishing to go back to their homeland, and to open Torkham and Chaman border crossings from April 6 to April 9 2020 on humanitarian grounds to facilitate Afghan nationals.

The press note says “as a neighbor in view of fraternal bilateral relations, Pakistan remains in abiding solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, particularly at this time of global pandemic.
