Afghanistan: 10 Injured In Khost IED Blast

KABUL: At least 10 people including woman and children injured in a powerful IED explosion that took place near the convoy of Khost Governor today.

According to officials, the IED was planted roadside to target the convoy of Khost’s governor Haleem Fidayi, who remained unharmed but two of his bodyguards and 8 civilians, including woman and children were injured.

Afghan media quoted Governor’s spokesman Talib Mangal sas saying that the explosion took place when the convoy had already passed from the area. Security forces rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area to collect evidences. No one has claimed responsibility of the attack till the filing of this report.
