KARACHI: In one of the biggest haul since its inception, the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (MSA) in collaboration with Pakistan Customs conducted an intelligence based operation and foiled attempt to smuggle drugs worth at least Rs 10.660 billion.
According to information made available, MSA and Pakistan Customs intercepted two fishing vessels, Al-e-Muhammadi and Al-e-Mubeen, and arrested 16 persons, and recovered huge consignment of drugs.
The narcotics include 2410 Kg of Hashish, 181 Kg Ice Crystal and 133 Kg Brown Crystal, hidden in secret portions of the ships. The estimated cost of the narcotics seized in the operation was put at around Rs. 10.660 billion in international market.
