Indian Police Officer’s Son Shot Dead By CRPF Near Narbal Budgam

SRINAGAR: A civilian was killed after Indian paramilitary CRPF forces opened fired at his car near Kawoosa Khalisa village in Narbal area of central Kashmir Budgam on Wednesday.

The victim was later identified as 25 year old Peer Mehrajudin, son of ASI, resident of Makhama, Budgam. Eye witnessed said bullets fired by Indian forces hit him at right shoulder and chest, and he was brought dead at hospital.

SSP Budgam Nagpure Amod alleged that a civil vehicle fled from 2 nakas in Narbal kawoosa due to which CRPF party opened fire, resulting in injuty to one person, who was later shifted to hospital.

Peer Mehrajudin was shifted to SHMS hospital Srinagar in critical condition. However, he was declared as brought dead by the doctors who attended upon him at the hospital.

The killing of Mehrajuddin sparked widespread protest in Budgam and his hometown where people in large number took to the streets and chanted anti-India slogans.
