Ready To Talk To India If It Reviews Current Policy: Taliban

KABUL: Afghan Taliban said they are ready to talk to the Indian govt if the latter “reviews its current policy”.

The statement was issued by member of Taliban’s political office in Qatar, Abbas Stanikzai, days after he told an interviewer that “India always played a negative role in Afghanistan, and supported traitors in the country.”

Only recently, US Special representative Zalmay Khalilzad too had asked India to join the peace process in Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, commenting on Ghani-Abdullah power sharing deal, Taliban spox Suhail Shaheen says Ghani-Abdullah deal is the “repeat of past failures,” and focus should be on implementing the Doha deal & completing prisoner release as precursor to intra-Afghan dialogues.
