Smuggling Attempt In Garb Of Afghan Transit Trade Foiled In Karachi

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate Preventive Anti-Smuggling organization (ASO) apprehends huge quantity of smuggled goods worth millions of rupees in the international market.

According to the details, on the tip of higher authorities the staff of the Model Customs Collectorate Preventive Anti-Smuggling organization (ASO) conducted a successful at the bogies of luggage train at city railway station Karachi. The said luggage train had arrived from Lahore.

During the search the officers of the Model Customs Collectorate Preventive Anti-Smuggling organization (ASO) found huge quantity of smuggled goods worth millions of rupees including Indian origin Oil packets, Shampoos, Hair spray masaj machines, body sprays, toothpastes and tooth brushes.

Custom officer who is not allowed to talk to the media informed that in the grab of Afghan Transit Trade (ATT) the said goods have been smuggled from Afghanistan and other neighboring countries by the culprits.

During the successful raid Wall clocks, foreign origin tyres as well as chocolate paste were also recovered and all the busted smuggled goods have been shifted to the Custom warehouse for further legal activities, added the customs officers.

In a second raid at a godown in Shershah SITE area the office of the Model Customs Collectorate Preventive Anti-Smuggling organization (ASO) busted smuggled cloth worth 2.26 million of rupees in the international market.

Initially cases have been lodged against culprits with articles of the Anti-Smuggling, and Customs for further investigations, raid will be conducted and the mastermind involved in the heinous crime will also be send behind the bars, said the Customs Officer.
