ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi chaired a high-level meeting on national security at the Foreign Office on Tuesday.
According to official statement, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for National Security Dr. Moeed Yousaf, Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood and senior military officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting, detailed consultations were held on national security, regional stability and the situation in the region
Speaking on this occasion, Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan wants peace and stability in the region. He said India’s continued violation of the Line of Control and targeting of civilians is a clear violation of international law and basic human rights.
The Foreign Minister said he had also informed the UN Secretary General, the President of the Security Council and the Secretary General of the OIC about India’s nefarious intentions.
India is jeopardizing peace and order in the entire region due to its Hindutva policies. The international community should take notice of India’s attitude, said Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi, adding that the Indian government was using heinous tactics to divert the world’s attention from its internal situation.
He said Pakistan will continue its sincere efforts for peace and stability in the region, including the Afghan peace process.
