SRINAGAR: BJP’s district President for Bandipora, Occupied Kashmir’s north has been shot dead along with his father and brother in an armed attack at their residence cum office on Wednesday evening. The incident took place and Kashmiris on both sides of Line of Control were observing Martyrdom anniversary of Burhan Wani, the most popular Hero of Occupied Kashmir’s freedom movement.
According to information gathered by the Regional Telegraph, gunmen attacked their office-cum-residence in Muslimabad area of Bandipora district and opened indiscriminate fire, injuring Wasim Bari his brother Umar Bari and father Bashir Ahmed, and fled from the scene.
Indian security forces rushed to the spot and shifted the three to hospital where all of them declared dead.
This is said to be the first major attack on any political figure in Occupied Kashmir since India changed the status of the valley in August last year.
Talking to media, the IGP said 10 PSOs (Personal Security Officers) of BJP slain Bandipora district president Waseem Bari arrested for negligence, as none was present when the killing took place.
