Afghan Military Chopper Crashes in Helmand

KABUL: An Afghan Army Black Hawk helicopter crashed in Helmand’s Kajaki area, officials said on Monday.

Afghan media quoted officials as saying the military chopper made a crash landing, wounding two soldiers, however, locals in Kajaki claim Taliban shot it down.

Information gathered by the Regional Telegraph revealed that the Black Hawk helicopter was part of a mission against, what they called, ‘insurgents’ in the area and was evacuating injured soldiers when it was hit by ‘enemy fire’

Afghan government has yet to release an official statement, while no one has claimed responsibility for downing the military chopper as yet.
