SRINAGAR: At least three Indian soldiers were killed and six injured in befitting response given by Pak forces to ceasefire violation by Indian Army along the Line of Control last night.
Officials in the Indian occupied Kashmir confirmed that a Sepoy Karnail Singh and Rifleman Virender Singh, suffered injuries as a result of retaliatory fire by Pak forces, and were referred to 150 GH Rajouri by helicopter.
However, Karnail Singh died before being admitted and his body was brought back to battalion headquarters of 10 Jak Rifles. Rifleman Virender Singh had sustained injuries in right eye.
In Naugam sector of Indian Occupied Kupwara, Two Army men were killed and 04 were injured.
In another development, a sub-inspector of the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) committed suicide by allegedly shooting himself with his service rifle in a camp here, police said.
Officials said that Sub-Inspector Chakerpani Prasad Tiwari (56), posted with 12th Battalion, shot himself in the head at Garoda border outpost in Gajansu area on the outskirts of Indian Occupied Jammu.
Tiwari, a resident of Madhya Pradesh, was rushed to sub-district hospital in Marh where he was declared brought dead by doctors.
