India: ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ Slogans Chanted At Assam’s Silchar Airport

NEW DELHI: ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans were chanted at Silchar Airport, India’s Assam state, on occasion of arrival of a local MP.

India media reports cited a viral video clip purporting to show that at  the arrival of All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief and MP Badaruddin Ajmal to Silchar, supporters were heard shouting “Pakistan Zindabad’.

The AIUDF, issued a statement terming the allegations as “fake” and hit out at the BJP for “distorting” the facts.

Terming the move as “cheap politics” of the BJP, the AIUDF claimed that party workers were raising slogans of “Aziz Khan Zindabad”, but the same were distorted into ‘Pakistan Zindabad’.

Leader of the opposition in Assam Assembly, Debabrata Saikia has demanded probe into the incident.
